    Senator Strauss,

I couldn’t sleep last night because thousands of my coworkers and myself were just furloughed from Hilton with little notice, lots of confusion, and very little clarity. A month ago, Hilton was a thriving company voted #1 Place to Work 2 years in a row. It was the pride and joy of the DMV’s business community. Now, the company claims to be cash poor, unable to pay it’s most fundamental employees, while continuing to pay its executive committee 50% of their compensation.

Me and many of my coworkers make less than $100K a year and they expect us to be able to live off of 20% of our salary for the next 3 months which will barely cover our health insurance and leave us with nothing, with no certainty as to when or if we will ever get our jobs back? This is the same executive committee that rewards itself when they failed to ensure a global century-old company could weather a financial crisis? If I did that poorly at my job I would have been fired a long time ago. Of course, we will probably all lose are jobs anyways, regardless of how much we have dedicated ourselves to our teams and our company.

Congress promised us a stimulus package that would protect our jobs. Yet you are approving a bill that will help bail out a company that has already violated that promise. We elect leaders to protect us in times of crisis and hardship. This makes up the most basic part of the social contract as described by Locke and Rousseau. Congress has one job and they failed to do that for the workers of the hospitality industry.

I’ve spent the entire evening talking with coworkers, helping them understand how we can make this furlough work for us, and how we can help each other, because Hilton isn’t there for us anymore. I have friends who are worried about H1B status and student loan debt, abrubtly having to figure out how to live on less than a 1000 a month when we all know that housing costs alone in northern Virginia and DC exceed that easily. We’re going to be looking for new jobs because we don’t have a guarantee from the company that those jobs we had will be there for us when this is over. Frankly, we are the lucky ones compared to our colleagues who work directly in the hotels.

And when all is said and done, when the economy recovers, we all know how this will pan out because we’ve seen it before. The markets and businesses recover after you give them money. The executives pat themselves on the back and give themselves the credit for managing the company with such great “fiscal responsibility.” They give themselves bonuses because they’ve deluded themselves into believing they saved the company all by themselves.

Meanwhile, my friends and coworkers never recover the things we lost. Our savings are depleted, our financial security set back another ten years. Millennials will be forced to endure another economic crisis during the most formative years of their adult lives. Young people will continue to be blamed for not buying houses or settling down with the families we simply cannot afford.

If you want to help the American people, stop giving money to people who only care about lining their pockets. You aren’t saving anybody by giving money to companies that don’t care.

    Dear Sen. Strauss-

I am a longtime DC resident and taxpayer and was shocked to learn about the shortchange in funding for DC in the CARES Act. Were you aware of this slight before the bill went to vote? If not, why not? If yes, why weren’t DC officials made aware of it before passage? My understanding from news reports is that a DC City Council staffer alerted DC officials only after the vote took place. Please advise. Thank you.

Hi, as a concerned resident of D.C. of the Covid-19 outbreak across the country and globe, i think all D.C. public schools should close for the year like Northern Virginia schools and else where…there are schools in D.C. across the river near the Pentagon. There are safety hazard concerns about the Covid -19 spread going up in that Pentagon. Think about the Military folks that must go to the Pentagon daily-no matter what goes on. Also, some people take the metro to the Pentagon to work. Social Distancing is a must right now… Distance learning should continue from March 24,2020 until June18,2020 for social distancing is needed longer and it is for security reasons. I think It’s very risky if they return to school April 27,2020. D.C. has alot of cases that includes State Dept. person, a U.S. Marshal, 2 of the Senators and a Catholic church priest and some D.C. school kids and some deaths of people reported. Too many people had died from the Covid-19 world wide. A baby caught Covid-19 from a southern state. Please don’t allow the statistics to rises with cases and deaths in D.C.. You all can save lives! I hope for a miracle, a good health recovery for the ones that have the Covid-19.

I would like to know why all of the American people wasn’t given the stimulus benefit? Some American people are unemployed, homeless, and just starting their own business and have yet to file a 1099. But are still experiencing this same pandemic and lockdown and aren’t able to provide for themselves. Why don’t these people count?

I hope this finds you well. I am a DC resident, civil servant, and proud AmeriCorps alum. The current impeachment trial is of great interest to me, and I would like to inquire about obtaining a gallery pass to the senate for one day (any day) to observe the impeachment trial. I have a public trust level background investigation, as well as a government issued Personal Identification Verification (PIV) badge, hopefully these credentials may expedite the process. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication.

I am a small business owner in DC. How can I show my support for S.700 – NEW GIG Act of 2019? A lot of small pet sitting and dog walking companies are going out of business in California because of AB5. We need to support independent contractors for our industry. A lot of our jobs are short term, the hours are sporadic, and walkers/sitters often want the flexibility of contracting. We need the flexibility that using independent contractors offers. Please support the New Gig Act of 2019!

For without it i will be unable recieve an answer to my case concerning my upgrade.

Without my records this will be impossible. No i have not physically, emotionally or psychologically harmed anybody but myself. Is it possible that my records were intentionally lost… who knows. However there is mentions in my records of paranoia in my medical records. Which gives a purposeful attempt to prevent further investigation in thier location. Please clarify your position on DC’s proposed backyard chicken ban through Mayor Bowser’s budgetary gimmicks. I know you are not a part of city government, but the US Congress does have oversight on DC’s legislation. In this case, influence and/or oversight is desperately needed. I represent DCEEC , the DC Environmental Education Consortium and I am writing to urge Paul Strauss to support full funding of the Student Support and Academic Enrichment Grant, or Title IV Part A of the Every Student Succeeds Act.

There is a wealth of evidence that supports the needs for students to have access to a diverse academic curriculum that includes science, arts, foreign language and civic and environmental education; programs that support students’ physical, mental, and behavioral health, and improve school safety; and modern, classroom based technology.

Without a significant investment in Title IV Part A, districts will be faced with the unnecessarily difficult decision of choosing which area to invest in. Congress authorized Title IV Part A of ESSA at $1.65 Billion and must fully funding this grant to ensure that each district is provided funds to invest in supporting safe and successful students; increasing access to a well-rounded education; and increasing the effective

    use of technology.

I urge Senator Paul Strauss to support the full funding if Title IV Part A.

I am trying to be a diligent voter and study the Statehood Referendum and have the following questions?

The Board of Elections and Ethics and New Columbia Statehood Commission websites do not contain the State of New Columbia’s boundaries. Do you have?

Is the notion of a separate federal enclave and State of New Columbia consistent with the language of the US Constitution, Article I, Section 8, that speaks of a District that is 10 miles square. Will this language need to be amended?

The Advisory Referendum Summary Statement reads: (3) approve of a Constitution of the State of New Columbia to be adopted by the Council. Will citizens have the opportunity to approve the Statehood Constitution before adoption?

Do you support the Advisory Referendum in its present form?

    Dear DNC Super Delegate Strauss,

You are in the unique position of being able to stop Donald Trump from becoming President.

The DNC chose their candidate before the primaries even started. In addition there was massive voter suppression and election fraud. Statistical experts point out that Bernie Sanders actually had more votes. None of these lawsuits,, Citizens Oversight Project, etc are likely to be resolved quickly enough to officially declare Sanders the primary winner.

The main stream media and the Clinton campaign are quite sure most Sanders supporters will fall in line and get behind her eventually. That is not happening. Others like myself will not support a candidate who disenfranchised so many of us. #DemExit has started & will continue past the convention depending on whether or not one is a delegate or down party voting that needs to happen first. Where in the past we have been able to overlook certain things and vote blue, no matter who, we can not and will not condone the criminal activity that has occurred over the past year in relation to this election.

So will the votes come from the Republican party then? Not likely. After seeing or hearing about the movie “Hillary’s America” that just came out expect her polling numbers to continue to go down.

The Clinton campaign and the DNC are apparently unable to view the polling realistically that says Hillary Clinton can’t beat Trump but Bernie Sanders can and are still pushing a deeply flawed candidate on the American public and to our countries detriment.
If they will not do the right thing for the Democratic Party and this country and step aside then you must. Please do your patriotic duty and vote for the stronger candidate…the one chosen by the majority of those that voted in the Democratic primary or tried to…not the one predetermined by criminal acts. The only candidate that can actually beat Donald Trump! Super Delegates votes may be the only ones whose votes count this election cycle & are not manipulated…so yes that’s why this is up to you.

    Thank you,

    Sharon Crawford

    July 23, 2016

    Dear Democratic Superdelegates,

For better or worse, the future of humanity rests in your hands.

I realize it may not be an easy burden to bear, or even to accept as reality, but it is yours. Party rules have been written, wisely or not, to give you a vote equal to that of several thousand ordinary Americans. The Party, wisely or not, has chosen to trust in your good judgment and experience, in the richness of the personal relationships you have cultivated, and your ability to weigh the merits of two strong candidates and come to a wise decision.

You may have a long, established relationship with the Clintons. Perhaps you fear repercussions against you if you support Senator Sanders. But I tell you that you are not alone if you are uncertain about this decision.

This is not only a question of whether Mrs. Clinton can win the Presidency against Donald Trump. We absolutely must consider the 2018 Midterm elections. If you think President Obama has faced totally unreasonable obstructionism from Congress – and he surely has – is it wise to elect the only person who is more hated by the bigots of this land than he is?

The 2018 Congress will determine the 2020 Congressional districts. You probably know that in demographic terms, the GOP is a dying party, and that gerrymandering of districts is one of their main tools for holding onto power even though they are quickly becoming a minority in the popular vote. The thing is, it is usual for midterms to go against the tide that brought in the sitting President. Can you imagine the strength of that backlash against a President Hillary Clinton? You must. You have this special vote because you know a thing or two about how the world works. So please, look at historical voting patterns and consider carefully what you are about to do.

I know it seems awful to allow the prejudices of a certain portion of the country to hold any sway at all over you. We are so horrified by the spectacle of Donald Trump and shocked that any sane person would vote for him. Yet, more than 13 million Americans did vote for him, and those voters seem to believe his twisted version of the truth more than they do ours. I am asking you to do the distasteful, and to consider how we, as the Democratic Party, might be able to win over a potential Trump voter.

So, what is Trump’s appeal? He is a vehicle for those who feel like they should be doing better than they are. Working-class white men in particular feel like the “America” they used to feel confident about has slipped away from them. Jobs that should feel secure don’t. Everyone they know is sicker than they should be, and no one can afford to see a doctor, even after being “forced” into insurance programs by Obamacare. When these folks hear that they should just get a STEM education, or move where the jobs are, what they really hear is that they have been left behind. When they see that someone with darker skin or a foreign-sounding name has a better job and lifestyle than they have, it is far too easy to fan the flames of hatred.

But step back for a moment and consider what is true. These voters are right to be angry about the impossibility of their situation. They are right to be furious when the world calls them obsolete or insists that their troubles are simply a matter of not working hard enough. They are right to think that a law requiring them to pay for insurance is appalling when their health remains poor and when getting care means ballooning debt or a missed mortgage payment. What they want, what everyone in this world seems to want right now, is to feel safe.

Extremism of any kind is an act of hopelessness. From gang warfare in American cities to the horrors of ISIS and Boko Haram to the desperate acts of our home-grown madmen, where there is a void of leadership, a lack of security, a part of the community lacking access to honorable paths forward, people fall prey to the false security offered by hate groups and evildoers. Just for a moment, please think of these troubled people as our sons and brothers. What do they need? What will heal them? What will help them feel safe?

I would argue that, whether Black or white, Muslim or Christian, young or old, American or non-American, these “lost sons” need more than anything to believe that they can trust someone to help them. They need a way to regain their honor if they have lost it, and they need to become part of the antidote to this broken world. They desperately want to belong to something important. They want to matter.

Who are they going to believe? Will working-class whites believe the most unpopular, least-trusted person ever to receive the Democratic nomination for President? Will young African-American voters eagerly turn out to vote for a person who called them “super-predators” and supported the mandatory-sentencing laws that have incarcerated millions of their fathers, mothers and brothers? Will electing someone who believed the Bush administration’s lies about WMD’s and voted for one of the longest wars in U.S. history, make us safer from would-be terrorists? Will her experience in the State Department give them reason to stop and think, “maybe this President will be different – let’s give her a chance to show what she will do differently”?

Bernie Sanders is the peacemaker that we need in this world.

Senator Sanders’ vision and first instincts are always about peacemaking and fairness and generosity. Far too many people assume that makes him “too soft” or “unrealistic” when he is anything but: Bernie Sanders is a pragmatic humanist and an experienced negotiator. He has been called “the amendment king” of Congress for passing sensible amendments in Congress with bipartisan support. Large numbers of Republicans in his home state vote for him. Respect for his integrity and honesty is very high on both sides of the political spectrum. But most importantly, Senator Sanders is gifted with a sense of history, of cause and effect, that allows him to accurately predict what the results will be of our major political decisions.

He warned us about the false WMD’s and advised against the war in Iraq. He warned us about the economic disaster that would follow the dismantling of Glass-Steagall. He warned us about the disastrous results of NAFTA. What if we could let Bernie Sanders’ good instincts serve the nation better than giving us a filibuster to watch on C-Span or YouTube? What if we could have someone with that kind of good judgment in the Oval Office, getting it right the first time?

What Senator Sanders “gets” that others don’t is that you can’t wage a war to get peace. You have to wage peace to get peace, and that absolutely means spending tax dollars on improving conditions for human beings, at home and abroad. It means listening to your enemies so you can connect with them as human beings, forge trust, and eventually have fewer enemies. Bombing enemies does not work well to achieve this end, nor does selling arms to their enemies. What works is this: developing community leadership from the bottom-up, not the top-down, building libraries, schools and hospitals, educating, and protecting human rights for girls and women, protecting local markets, as needed, from the competition of cheap imports, protecting access to drinking water as a human right, protecting the planet from additional ravages of Climate Change, which are going to be bad enough already. To wage peace, you don’t just broadcast messages of compassion: you make them true.

Since Senator Sanders has run his record-breaking campaign almost exclusively on the small donations of 2.5 million individual Americans, it is easier to believe that he will follow through on overturning Citizens United, ending super-PAC’s and getting big money out of American politics. It is easier to believe that he will pursue real election reform by re-empowering the Voting Rights Act nationwide, by forcing cities to maintain sufficient polling places and well-trained election staff, such that waiting more than an hour to vote becomes a story from the past. It is easier to believe that Senator Sanders understands the integrity and transparency of the vote are much more important than how technologically advanced the equipment is that records it. In fact, voting machines that lack a voter-verified paper trail are fundamentally non-transparent, because anyone who is not a computer programmer has no way of verifying that they are recording the vote accurately. This needs to change immediately, and I hope you will see the value in that change, regardless of your vote on the Nomination.

I keep mentioning “belief” because it is so central to the power of the Sanders Campaign. It is why Senator Sanders has been able to inspire so many people to volunteer and get deeply involved in politics for the first time in their lives. Truth. It doesn’t take nearly as big an advertising budget when you are telling people the truth they already know. This is a rigged economy. We need to get the money of corporations and the ultra-wealthy out of politics. If someone works 40 hours a week, he or she should not have to live in poverty. You can’t cut taxes for the rich and still have enough to balance the budget. Black lives DO matter, and anyone who feels the need to qualify that statement is part of the problem. The wealthiest 1% of Americans are not paying their fair share of taxes in a nation that still has children going hungry, crowded into failing schools, and crumbling infrastructure. Enough really is enough.

The trouble with truth and belief is that they are non-transferable. The Democratic Party may be looking to polling that shows “the majority” of Senator Sanders are, with varying degrees of foot-dragging, willing to vote for Hillary Clinton. Be that as it may, the Sanders activists themselves are a relatively small voting bloc. In terms of strategy, we Democrats need to win swing states and swing voters and swing districts. We need to win enough of them in a resounding way that the gridlock in Congress is broken and we can get some good, popular legislation completed before the 2018 elections. Even if Mrs. Clinton can win the Presidency in November, it will not be enough to build a Congress that will withstand the inevitable backlash. And the Democratic Party will suffer. The fact is that Hillary Clinton is the ONLY thing holding the Republican Party together right now. Like it or not, SHE is their best talking point, and they cling to her trouble-prone reputation like a life raft. Imagine, for just a moment, if we took her away from them! Voters would actually have to take in new information!

I grew up in Massachusetts, but I live in Southwest Indiana, near Evansville. Moving to the Bible Belt was, shall we say, a “cultural adjustment” for me, as I am a bit more Buddhist than Christian. But my fundamentalist neighbors and friends are kind, generous people. I pray for their Republican-voting moral souls as they pray for mine, and we are challenged by one another to reach across the “culture war” divide as we discuss children, health, food, and farming. These people find Donald Trump morally repulsive, but there is nothing in Hillary Clinton to draw them in. She gets an immediate negative reaction.

I am not simply relating my experiences with friends and neighbors – I also volunteered extensively with my local and National Sanders campaign, making hundreds of calls to voters in other states, and knocking on hundreds of doors locally in Indiana and Kentucky. I have been in every kind of neighborhood and talked to every demographic of voter, and certainly a good handful of voters do prefer Hillary Clinton. But the ones who dislike her are going to transcend your “math”. I am not promising that Mrs. Clinton can’t win the election, but her Nomination instead of Sanders’ will likely set progressive politics in Indiana back by decades. Those Christian voters we were starting to win over on the basis of preventing war and addressing poverty will be gone, because Mrs. Clinton lacks credibility in those areas.

Yes, there will be advertising firms who will tell you otherwise., but they want your money and they don’t know these voters like I do.

Ted Cruz has already instructed his religious conservative wing of the GOP to “follow their consciences” in the matter of the Presidential election. And make no mistake, the Trump candidacy is as big an opening as we Democrats should ever hope to get, a shining chance for our Party to reclaim the moral high ground. Dear Superdelegates, the best you can hope for is that these millions of good Christian voters will stay home on voting day. Hillary Clinton will never be able to sell them the Democratic Party, and we are past due for some re-branding. Please give us Bernie Sanders.

Here we are in Philadelphia, and it is really decision time. You may feel like it is a done deal, and things would be a real mess if you or anyone else rocks the boat. But you are ignoring the hole in the bottom of the boat, and the fact that a very seaworthy one has pulled up beside you. Please get aboard. You may be worrying about how this Convention will “look” compared to the one last week, and you may legitimately be shocked that we “irresponsible” Sanders supporters don’t understand the serious importance of defeating Donald Trump.

Please understand that we are more afraid than you are. In our opinion, you are not afraid enough.

Our planet is OUT. OF. TIME. Climate Change is upon us, and half the country doesn’t even believe it’s real. Climate change may sound boring to you, like a “side issue” compared to poverty, race relations, women’s rights, and ending the wars. But if we don’t act quickly, if YOU don’t act quickly, it will be the ONLY issue. The worse we allow it to get, the more farmland will turn to desert, the more people will start wars over the remaining land, as they did in Darfur and in Syria. As Americans, it is far too easy to pretend that we are not part of the natural, living world. We can have any fruit we choose any time of the year and push a button to change the ambient temperature of a room. But we have noticed, upon occasion, that it hurts to nearly lose one of our most beautiful cities to a hurricane. We have noticed that our Northern lakes no longer freeze solid enough to skate on, that the snowpack is missing from some mountaintops. And some of us live in a part of the country that has been literally burning with drought for years.

I personally experienced the Midwest’s drought of 2012 as a dairy farmer in Indiana. Unlike the intense worry followed by a recovery that occurs with a tornado, ice storm, or flooding, the feeling during a drought is a feeling of sinking dread and abandonment. You watch the sky each day, begging for help, and get nothing. The air stops moving, and heat is everywhere, but soon, even the humidity is gone, and crops fail to grow. Even my highly-talented neighbors, with their GPS-driven planters and their $10,000/acre farmland could not make the corn grow without water. It withered and died at 3 feet tall. My cows panted in the 105-degree shade and refused to graze until dusk. I bought twice the amount of hay that year that I normally would, just to save the cows, sold off the entire sheep flock, and didn’t recover financially for more than two years. Farmers are tough, persistent people, but drought is harder on us than most things. It feels like slow death. It feels like our Mother Earth doesn’t want us.

That isn’t the kind of relationship with my Mother that I want to have.

I want to make Her proud, and my Father too. So I cannot stop until I have begged you, on my knees if necessary, to Nominate this man who is trusted, who is a teacher, who sees the beautiful humanity in each of us and wants to show us the loving path forward. Give us Bernie Sanders.

The alternative means a divided Party, a divided Nation, the strong possibility of Trump for President and far fewer Democratic seats in Congress. It means the bankers have won, the Koch Brothers have won, and the nation will soon suffer one of the ugliest, most cynical, fear-mongering elections imaginable. It means the Democratic Party doesn’t want us and doesn’t understand us or have room for our priorities. It also, puzzlingly, means the Democratic Party does not have its own best interests at heart – in polls, Sanders beats Trump by double the margin that Clinton does! So why, Superdelegates, would you go against the best interests of the Party? Those interests and that future are exactly what you have been appointed to protect!

If you want Party unity so much, if you want to be “Stronger Together”, choose Bernie. Sanders activists will be glad to collaborate with the more experienced Party members to reach out to voters, raise funds, and put together policy proposals. We will walk those extra blocks if you are tired. We may seem cranky now, but we are eager to be on the same team, working to implement Senator Sanders’ progressive agenda. Sure, many of us here will still help with Party activities and campaigns if Mrs. Clinton is the Nominee, but if you “Stronger” and you really want “Together”, Bernie Sanders is the most exciting and effective candidate for the top of the ticket.

Give us Bernie, and we will work so hard for you. We will not forget that you did the right thing.

Give us Bernie, and you will know that you did the right thing.

You are worried about going against the “popular vote” and that should normally be a concern. But this was not a normal year. The Party wouldn’t have a third of delegates considering walk-outs on the Nominee if this was a normal year. The Party wouldn’t have hundreds of delegates debating just how literally to show their behinds to the Chair of the DNC in a normal year. In a normal year, the Party would have insisted on a final California debate as promised, and prevented the mainstream media from declaring victory for a candidate who had NOT “clinched” the Nomination, unless you happen to have a dated receipt for your vote?

That’s right, your vote hasn’t happened yet, and that is why you, the living, thinking person, give me hope.

These were not fair and open elections with equal access to the polls. Sanders voters were deliberately given wrong ballots. New York voters were asked to register six months before the Primary, before a single debate had taken place, but not if they were merely turning 18 or moving into the state. Only activists in the minor parties and independents and former Republicans were discriminated against: the likely Sanders voters.

You will know this from the struggle for civil rights: a person is a person, and “the man” will give you all kinds of technical reasons why your vote isn’t quite right for actually counting: why you as a convicted felon don’t deserve the vote, why you as a 17 year-old are too young to vote, but only in this state and this race, or why it is all right for a former President to campaign for his wife right in the doorway of a polling place, even if it delays voting by hours, and voters are asking him to leave. Why you need to know to ask for a provisional ballot here, but an affidavit ballot here, and a presidential crossover ballot there, and that you shouldn’t really expect these to be counted, but it’s the “I voted” sticker that counts, right? You know from the struggle for civil rights that a human being is a human being, and we all want to be counted.

So don’t be too surprised if we don’t feel like sitting next to you and being “Stronger Together”. It sounds weak to us. We aren’t here to party with you or go to the Lady Gaga concert. We are here mostly to witness your decision. It is one of the biggest decisions of your life, and one the biggest of ours, too. You are holding the world in your hand this week…do you know it?

The Middle East is in chaos, and American Muslims trust Bernie Sanders to bring his gentle wisdom into the picture. A bigoted sociopath is the GOP Nominee, and he is winning in far too many states and far too many hearts. He feeds on Fear. He will be undone by the shining, optimistic confidence that comes from having a comforting, trustworthy leader like Bernie Sanders. He will be undone by Truth.

    So give us Bernie Sanders.

Here, I have a fun game for you this week. If you are considering supporting Senator Sanders, casually touch your left ear. (It means you’re listening to the Left!) You can always say it was by accident. You can do this when you meet your fellow Superdelegates and are wondering whether they may change their minds, or when you’re settling down in a crowd to hear a speech. You can even do it to tease us and give us false hope.

But please, please give us Bernie Sanders.

I hope you understand by now that our main motivation is not that we are sore losers, and I hope I don’t even need to explain that yes, we are proud feminists who all look forward to seeing the right woman in the White House. And soon. But it is not a reason to miss the Sanders opportunity. He can get more done. Much more. And it matters.

I know you have waited a long time for the Hillary Clinton Presidency. I know Hillary Clinton has waited a long time for the Hillary Clinton Presidency. But we are all here to serve. We don’t always know how we will be called, and it certainly isn’t always fair. Those among you who have been the pioneering women in your fields, Thank You. I grew up free because of you. I appreciate that you walked this professional path when it was far less welcoming to us as women. I realize we have a long way to go, in terms of equal pay and paid family leave. But I don’t need this symbolic victory this year. I already know we can be Presidents of the United States.

We don’t need a President to prove we have left the Past behind. We need a President to ensure that we have a Future.

It will take everything we have as the human species to turn back Climate Change and invent a sustainable way of living on this little blue planet. This is the grand challenge of our generation, and we are terrified that you are on the verge of dismantling the most powerful tool for compassionate political leadership that has ever come along in our lifetimes.

I saw a cartoon a few months ago, that showed Mrs. Clinton and President Obama both hacking away at a mountain with pickaxes. The mountain was labeled “GOP Obstructionism”, or something like that. And Bernie Sanders comes up behind them and asks, “You got any dynamite?” And of course they are irritated, because of course they would have used dynamite if they had it. But guess what? We are the dynamite. Loving-kindness and generosity are the dynamite. Truth is the dynamite. It has been here all along, and it took Senator Sanders to remind us we could use it.

Some have suggested that this Superdelegate business would be easier if you all could vote by secret ballot, and I think that it is something to consider. Strangely, I feel less concerned about removing your accountability to voters than I feel the urgency of protecting you from peer pressure! If there was ever a time to “vote your conscience”, this is it. I pray that you feel truly free to do so.

Please take some real time to reflect, meditate, or pray about your decision, and make sure that your choice feels true and right to you. A choice your grandchildren and great-grandchildren will be proud of. Please consider the temperament, history, and skills of each candidate, and consider how those qualities mesh with the needs of the country. Consider the strength of a Democratic Party truly united and ready to work for the common good. President Sanders will have a strong team, as did President Obama, to support him as he learns what there is to know about being the President of the United States. But it is his sound judgment that matters most, and he will have that on Day One.

    Please, give us Bernie Sanders.

People around the world have been watching our Presidential election with astonishment and no small amount of fear. They know, even if we don’t, that the American President has more power outside these United States than in them. They know that the wars our President starts will drop bombs on their soil, not ours. They fear the disastrous results of our insufficient funds for public education.

Yes, the world fears Trump. And our international friends may think Clinton is good enough, but that is where they don’t understand American politics. We can’t erase the socially conservative, the rural, or the true Bernie-or-Bust voters.

They exist, and if they will vote for Bernie Sanders.

Welcome them in! Time is nearly up, and those voters are about to slip through your fingers! Those Congressional seats, those Mayoral races, those Governors and Senators seats! This will be an empty victory indeed if we lose the long game. Please don’t drop this ball. The Party entrusted you with this vote so you could act. Act wisely.

Choose Bernie, to strengthen and unify the Party.

Choose Bernie, to protect our one and only Planet Earth. There is no “Planet B”!

Choose Bernie, to heal our divided Nation.

Follow the path that Love shows you. Do not let Fear be your leader, because Fear will lead you into dark corners, and we are adults.

We have more Courage than that. We have the Courage to choose Love, and to forge a wise path to the hearts of our enemies.

We have more Wisdom than that. We have the Wisdom to look far into the future, and to do what is best for the future of humanity.

We have more Hope than that. We are not ready to let the American Dream slip away, to see our nation’s famous optimism swallowed up by cynicism and despair. We Hope to make other nations proud to be our allies; we Hope to rebuild our broken communities; we Hope to God that this “rEvolution” will be enough to save our oceans, our forests, our icecaps, our farmland, and our precious children’s future on a Blessed planet. We pray that you are listening.

    Are you listening yet?

Choose Bernie. Choose Bernie. Choose Bernie.

    Thank you.

    Esteemed Superdelegate,

My name is Jim O’Neill and I am a father, husband, small business owner, home owner and a Navy Veteran who was a part of Desert Storm. Over my 42 years of life I have come to value the electoral process and having a voice in our government. I had formerly voted for Obama twice, although times have changed and our country has not changed, and, by virtue of that, we have found ourselves over the last few decades falling so far behind other first-world countries. The tides are changing and we, as a country, are being left behind – a laughing stock on the world’s stage where we were once a shining beacon of freedom and democracy.

We are behind pretty much all other European countries in a wide variety of ways – poverty, rate of incarceration, police violence, electoral fraud and voter suppression, climate change, quality of education, civil rights, the war on drugs, converting to alternative energy, and energy independence. I can go on and on with listing the ways in which we trail, but what matters is what we do about it. Our only hope is that we have a candidate and a platform that they will stand behind to make the changes needed to correct these problems.

We cannot use the same people that created the problems and expect them to magically decide that the real solutions now finally sound good. We need change, not just incremental change, because our planet and our children do not have time for that. We need a principled and ethical candidate who will enact radical change and drive us forward to be able to begin to recover from decades of war and economic, social, and political stagnation.

As a concerned citizen please take a moment to read my Letter to the Superdelegates of the Democratic Party:

    Senator Strauss,

My 9-year-old niece is visiting the DC area until 7/9 and would like to visit the White House. Actually, this is the only place that she wants to visit, is it possible that I can get on the list to take her prior to leaving?

Thank you in advance for your help

    SATURDAY JULY 16TH, 2016

To the Honorable Senator Paul Strauss, June10th 2016

    Kingdom Greetings

We cordially invite you to join Apostle Dr. Mari V. Armistead, Founder and Senior Pastor of Focus Ministries Global, a ministry without walls, in our wonderful city of the District of Columbia. This ministry once again has embarked on the Third Prayer onWest Lawn, Area 1, at the United State Capital Saturday, July 16th, 2016 beginning at 10:00 am until 2:00 pm.

The Burdon of Domestic Violence is a HEAVY task. Domestic Violence isn’t just about the atrocities of the husband hurting his wife and family, the mother hurting her children, the breaking the trust of those they serve; it’s what we are seeing and bearing witness too today. Murders, rapes, assaults, perverted acts all of these are becoming all to frequent within our neighborhoods, places of worship, family entertainments and venues, walking down the street or riding on city transits.

We are praying with five key prayer points which are for the Direction, Instructions, Forgiveness,Thanksgiving and Repentance, and once completed, we will praise the Great God of the Universe, the Creator of Everything and then depart from the anointed place with our mission completed. The scripture offered comes from 2nd Chronicles 7v 14-15 “if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 15 Now My eyes will be open and my ears attentive to prayer made in this place.

If you accept this task presented, the cost to you is just a few minutes of your time by touching and agreeing as we come together for this chosen time of prayer. In closing, our children, families, communities, neighborhoods, city, state and especially our country are looking towards us to make a difference just for today.

Thank you so very much for your time and attention in this request.

    His servant in the vineyard,

Apostle Dr. Mari. V. Armistead, Ph.D

Please keep Trump out of the White House. Drop your support of Clinton. Trump can beat her. But he cannot beat Bernie.
